Bottom of Spain - Tarifa

Just a taste of the bottom of spain... its absolutley gorgeous.. while there I tried my hand and kite surfing and lots of laying on the beach... in the top photo the land you see in the background is actually africa (morocco) :) :) I didnt make it across as I wanted to enjoy where I was and not spread myself too thin... after here I went to copenhagen, denmark...
More photos coming. :) :)

SPAIN #2 - real spain

So I left the comercial areas of spain (barcelona and velencia) and headed south to granada and seville which had much more of an authentic feel...

Top 3 pics were in granada - the sun set view waas from the balcony where I stayed... the first night I had a room the next night we set up air matresses on the roof and slept under the stars.... was an experience i'll never forget... the photo of all the white houses shows where i stayed its somewhere in the middle of all those white buildings :)

the two night pics were in seville... the guy in the phtoto was my friend i met in barcelona who is from japan... we bumped into each other again in seville... crazy. :)

Too busy having fun - SPAIN #1

Ok, so ive been enjoying myself - - sorry these posts havent been flowing like i had intended them to... here are some picks of my journey through spain: -

First of all is barcelona which is the photo of the beach... I was here for a few days and met some great people. :) the city is quite nice but i was looking for some more authentic spain...
The pic of me standing next to what looks like a rock climbing wall (its actually a church) - this church started being built in the late 1800's and is still being built today...

The photo with the palm trees and the one with the groovy white building was taken in valencia... not too far from where they hold the big tomato fight :)

The last one is also in valencia - its a saturday soccer match...

Last post for italy...

How to park a smart car in italy - I couldn't believe how many smart cars and how many people parked them in the weirdest positions... i saw a smart car parked in with all these scooters (and it actually fitted) :p

Here's another car I saw and to my amazement was actually SMALLER than the smart car... didnt think it was possible (except for the car i saw on top gear)...

Here's the view from my accomodation in rome (well 40mins out of rome) I chose to stay on the beach and I enjoyed every minute of it....

sand and salt water - it almost felt like home except the sand wasnt so yellow and there were no waves.... (so many people have asssumed i surf - i must learn how to)

ROME

ok ok - so I havent up dated in sooooooo long... you see sometimes its just too hard to turn on the laptop d/l photos and write stuff about stuff and well.......... ok it's been a mixture of being busy and lazy... :p
Rome was a spectacular place I was there for about 4 days and saw most of it... It was such an unreal feeling walking around and through these buildings that back in the times before christ - these places were full of people... If any of you are planning on coming to europe come to rome... as for the pickpockets - I didn't see any!! but I've heard from alot of people who have had their things taken so I would say that when (and if) you come DONT dress up like a tourist (camera bag, backpack, daggy hat, bum bag, always looking at the map) because you'll be the biggest target to be robbed.... right-o photo's:-
This one above was the bets view of rome... this is the top of the vaticain looking over st peters square....

A cool photo: cant think of the name but this place is somewhat rome's war memorial...
Ok above is the trevi fountain (you are suppose to toss a coin over your shoulder into the fountain) - but this place is packed at night (as you can see) - people just sit a look at it.... random!!
I'm lost here - I cant tell you if this is rome or florence (if i was to guess i'd say florence - BUT it also looks like a small area in rome) - So confusing...

Lucca and Pisa - Tuscany

After florence i caught the train for about 1-2hours and arrived in Lucca a small city about 20mins from Pisa. The original city was surrounded by walls and inside felt like you had stepped back in time. felt very italian and very tuscan!! I heard that italians go here to escape the tourists... but they couldn't escape me... Surprisingly this place was very happening, shops open late and the streets were just filled with people (this was midweek too). Loved the way that around sunset, half the ity was up on top of the city walls jogging, cycling, or walking the dog... (the original city is probably 1kmx1km) stayed here for about 3 days then on the way to Rome stopped by Pisa - pisa only has one thing going for it "the leaning tower"so i stayed for 2h in pisa before the train down the west cost of italy to rome..... enjoy the photos :)
